Four Pu’er Tea-producing Areas in Yunnan

One of the four major Puer production areas in Yunnan: Simao production area in Puer City, Yunnan Province. Pu’er City was once called Simao City, which was renamed Pu’er City only in 2007.

Jing Mai tea area

The most representative of Simao Tea District is Jingmai Ancient Tea District. Jingmai Tea District covers Lancang County and Mangjing Village. There are many ancient tea gardens with thousands of years of planting history. They are all cultivated ancient tea gardens.

Jingmai tea is characterized by sweetness and fragrance, and pure Jingmai tea has three fragrances: dry tea fragrance, smelling its tea cake is very obvious orchid fragrance; tea soup fragrance is prominent, can also taste orchid fragrance when tasting tea; cup bottom fragrance, cup bottom fragrance is the most intuitive expression of the wild fragrance of ancient arbor tea mountain, Jingmai tea mountain strong wild fragrance, cup bottom fragrance lasting.

Wuliangshan Tea District

Wuliangshan is located in the west of Jingdong County. It starts in Nanjian County in the northwest and spreads to Zhenyuan and Jinggu in the southwest. It is named for “the meaning that the sky is too high to reach the clouds and the face is too big to measure”. Wuliangshan tea strips are slightly longer, and the tea soup is still bright yellow and green, bitter and astringent, but long astringent, better aftertaste.

Jinggu tea area

Jinggu tea has the following characteristics: 1. It is abundant in quantity and widely distributed. It is planted in patches in ancient tea gardens with high density and high yield. 2. The ecological condition is good. Xiaojinggu tea area has not been transformed into a large-scale tea garden. The ancient tea plants are basically trees growing naturally. They hardly undergo dwarfing for 3 years and have a long tree age. Xiaojinggu tea has a long history, mostly large trees with trunk diameter of more than 10 centimeters. 4. The quality of tea is good. Affected by natural conditions, tree age and ecological conditions, Xiaojinggu tea district has plump buds, long strips and fluff. The tea soup is bitter and sweet.

Bang Wei tea area

Located in Bangwei Village, Fudong Township, Lancang County, there are hundreds of mu of old tea plantations near the village. The transitional ancient tea plantation in Bangwei was created here, which has a history of more than 1700 years. The aroma of Bangwei tea is persistent and sharp, with strong flavor. It tastes slightly bitter on the lower tongue and the middle and posterior part of the upper jaw. Sweetness concentrates on the tongue, and it returns quickly.
