Useful knowledge, one cup at a time
ChinaTea101 is being built as an English field guide to Chinese tea. Its focus is practical: what you can observe, how to brew, how to describe a cup and what to ask before buying.
Each tea has one profile. That record also powers discovery and comparison tools, so descriptions and recipes stay consistent across the site.
A project in development
The Tea Atlas now covers 49 teas across all major families — green, white, yellow, oolong, black, dark, pu'er and scented. Most profiles started from owner-supplied drafts and an editorial fact-check; a smaller number have been checked against independent, publicly citable sources (government standards, GI registries). It is not yet a complete or fully independently reviewed encyclopedia. Read our editorial method to understand the review process and see which profiles have independent verification.
